Working With Little Ones: A Three Part Series

Part one: building the body (Katherine Ukleja)
part two: birth odyssey (Dominic Degranges)
part three: echoes of the womb (Cherionna Menzam-Sills)

Starting NOVEMBER 2019 • New York City

This three-part series will explore the deep formative forces that create a human being and the miraculous journey from conception, fetal development, birth and the first years of life. This unique program will give students the rare opportunity to learn about these energies and how to meet them in ourselves, our adult clients and working with babies and their families. Explore this exciting territory with three leading experts in the field. Students will need to participate in all three parts and must have completed a Foundation Training.

Building the body: Key phases in embryonic and Foetal development

november 6-10th, 2019
instructor: katherine ukleja

The embryonic body is as much a way of being, which persists throughout life, as a phase of development which spans the first eight weeks of gestation. The primary qualities of embryogenesis are emergence and mutability, an evolving wave of becoming, which lays down the primordia of all the vital components of the unified human body. Wholeness is always maintained even as differentiation into distinct anatomical parts takes place.

This same quality of vibrant flux is present in human organism as a property of health, from our first breath to the last. It can be experienced at the molecular, cellular, tissue and organ level when Potency is abundant.

In this seminar we will explore some key phases of development which are echoed in the primary respiratory motion of the fully-grown body.

We will review:

  • Proliferation and growth

  • Blechschmid’s paradigm of metabolic fields, biokinetics and biodynamics

  • Properties of the three germ layers - ectoderm, mesoderm, endoderm

  • Arising of form and structure

  • From somite to soma – segmental outflow of skeletal muscles and peripheral nerves – the trunk and the limbs

  • Splanchnic mesoderm and autonomic nerves – the viscera

  • The neural tube and mesectoderm – the brain and meninges

We will explore:

  • Embryonic developmental movements recapitulated in patterns of tissue motility of the brain, the heart, the limbs

  • Imprints revisited - inertial metabolic fields and restoration of flow

  • Segmentation and nerve territories – central and peripheral connections

  • The whole body brain – restoring equilibrium, realizing potential,

  • the hum of life alive in the depth of stillness
